Vic: Man charged over Goulburn River bodies
MELBOURNE, Feb 11 AAP - Shepparton detectives have charged a man with murder afterthe discovery of two bodies in northern Victoria's Goulburn River.
The 27-year-old Shepparton man was arrested and charged this morning and was expectedto appear in Shepparton Magistrates Court later today.
Police said the man had been charged in relation to the death of only one of the bodiesfound in the river.
The bodies of two men, aged 60 and 47, were found on Sunday and yesterday at a popularrecreation spot on the river, about five kilometres from the city of Shepparton.
A post-mortem examination on the first corpse - that of a man 165cm tall, with baldinggrey hair and a moustache - showed he had been beaten to death.
An autopsy of the second body was conducted last night.
A police spokesman said the identity of the two men would not be released until familymembers had been contacted.
