MELBOURNE, Aug 14 AAP - Very good skiing throughout resorts in Victoria's Alpine ski
fields, with fresh heavy wet snow in some areas, the official snow report said.
Chains must be carried and fitted where directed.
Conditions at 6.24 am:
FALLS CREEK: Very good to excellent skiing and boarding on a very good to excellent fresh
dry snow cover throughout the whole resort. Excellent snow quality. Grooming underway.
Cross-country: Excellent on 27 km of freshly groomed trails. Hoppet course will be groomed
Sunday. Lifts: 17/18. Temp: -4.9 degC. Snow depth: 103cm. Snowmaking areas: Excellent. Fresh:
21cm. Last snow: 14/8. Wind: Fresh S. Visibility: Variable. Snowmaking: When conditions
permit. Weather: Snowing. Toboggan run: Open. Road: Open and fitting chains 2WDs.
MT BULLER: Very good to excellent skiing on a good to very good fresh dry snow cover on
most open areas. Extensive grooming underway. JIB park - weather permitting. Cross country:
Very good through Village (groomed). Lifts: 23/25. Temp: -4.1 degC. Snow depth: 75cm.
Snowmaking areas: Very good. Fresh: 20cm. Last snow: 14/8. Wind: Strong SW. Visibility: Poor.

MT HOTHAM: Excellent skiing and boarding on an excellent cover of fresh dry areas. Blue
Ribbon on standby for assessment. Extensive grooming throughout. Cross country: Excellent on
all trails (extensive grooming). Road: Clearing currently in progress. Road expected to open
soon. Fitting chains to 2WDs. Road hazardous. Lifts: 12/13. Temp: -4.6 degC. Snow depth:

MT BAW BAW: Excellent sightseeing snow, tobogganning and snowplay. Lift may operate pending

MT BUFFALO: Excellent skiing and boarding on a fresh dry snow cover on all runs. Excellent

(ungroomed). Lifts 5/5. Temp: -2.6 degC. Snow depth: 30cm. Snowmaking areas: Excellent. Fresh:

DINNER PLAIN: Very good to excellent downhill skiing and cross country skiing on a fresh
snow cover on all trails. Excellent on Hotham link trail. Groomed. Pub to pub race Saturday.

MT DONNA BUANG: Light cover for snowplay and sightseeing.
